Biographical Sketch/
Administrative History:
Reverend Louise Mahood was a United Church minister from 1992 until her retirement in 2011. She received her Bachelor of Arts from York University in 1984, and was the first graduate of York's Women's Studies programme. Mahood received her Master of Divinity from Emmanuel College, University of Toronto, in 1988, where she won numerous scholarly awards. Mahood was ordained as a minister by the Toronto Conference of the United Church of Canada in 1992. She served at Forest Grove United Church before being appointed as an Intentional Interim Minister at Bolton United Church (1994-1995), Intentional Interim and Supply Minister at Sutton-Virginia Pastoral Charge (1997), Thistletown United Church in Rexdale (1999-2002), WoodGreen United Church (2002-2004), and Mount Dennis United Church (2005-2011). As well as being an Interim Specialist minister, Mahood ran her own small business providing professional organizer and life coach services. In addition, Mahood self-published two books (The Middle Majority: Life Between the Extremes Within Christianity (2008) and Hybrid (2010)), as well as numerous papers, and conducted presentations and workshops.
Scope and Content:

The fonds consists of essays, newsletters, notes and other material related to Reverend Louise Mahood's course work as a high school and university student; clippings, correspondence, sermons and worship bulletins, and other material related to her ecumenical studies and work as a United Church minister; correspondence, diaries and journals, ephemera and other materials related to her personal life, and drafts of her books The Middle Majority and Hybrid.
