Series consists of correspondence, forms and other documents related to the establishment of exchange agreements between Gutsell and other institutions. Gutsell would send a copy of Canadian Cartographer/Cartographer in exchange for a copy of a cartography related journal provided by the participating institution. The majority of exchange participants were institutions in other countries, including some from what was then known as the Soviet Bloc, such as Poland.
