Biographical Sketch/Administrative History: The Project for Development Supports Communications in Northern Thailand resulted from an agreement between the Mass Communications Department of Chiang Mai University and Ryerson International Development Centre (RIDC) of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. This project was engaged under a co-operative agreement with the Canadian Development Agency's Institutional Linkages Programme with the idea of strengthening the capacity of the Mass Communications Department to train students to apply their media skills to development. Its objective was to revise the curriculum, to establish networks with development organizations, to re-deploy faculty workloads, to train faculty intensively in new directions and techniques and to upgrade the radio station's role in development education and included Canadian secondments to Thailand to offer seminars, workshops and specific managerial skills and advice on re-organization.
Scope and Content: The series consists of subject files on various aspects of the project, copies of action plans and progress reports, contracts, correspondence, memorandum, reports, course outlines, minutes, notebooks, journals, publications and student assignments created and/or accumulated by Norquay while she participated in the project.
