Biographical Sketch/ Administrative History: | The Danny Grossman Dance Company was established by Danny Grossman in 1975 (incorporated 1978) at Toronto. Grossman's choreography is the basis for the company's repertoire which includes 'National spirit,' (1976), 'Endangered species,' (1981), 'Hot house: thriving on a riff,' (1986),and 'Ground zero,' (1990). Grossman's works are now in the repertoires of the National Ballet of Canada, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and the Paris Opera Ballet. The company has performed in major centres in Canada and the United States as well as in Europe, Israel and Asia. The company has also offered dance programs at York University in its Summer Residency Program, where Grossman once served on the faculty of the Dance Department. |
