Biographical Sketch/
Administrative History:
Priscila Uppal was born in Ottawa on 30 October 1974. She is a poet, author and an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at York University. She completed a double honours B.A. in English and Creative Writing and a Ph.D in English Literature at York University in 1997 and 2002, respectively and an M.A. in English from the University of Toronto in 1998. She has published four collections of poetry and her work has appeared in national and international magazines. Her first novel ’The Divine Economy of Salvation’ and ’Uncommon Ground : A Celebration of Matt Cohen’ which she co-edited with Graeme Gibson, Dennis Lee and Wayne Grady were both published in 2002.
Scope and Content:

The fonds consists of drafts of unpublished poems and stories, many of which were written for creative writing courses taken at York, drafts of poems written for her published collections ’Confessions of a Fertility Expert’, ’Pretending to Die’ and ’Live Coverage’, correspondence and drafts related to her novel ’The Divine Economy of Salvation’ and edited drafts of submissions and correspondence related to ’Uncommon Ground: A Celebration of Matt Cohen’.
