In 1815 they moved to Drummond Island which the British subsequently agreed, was in American territory. The British settlers left their new home in 1826 and reestablished themselves at Penetanguishene and St. Joseph Island.

(1)Levy, Eleazar, (c.1716-1811) Canada's first Jewish Notary Public, was in Quebec by 1760. In 1764 his goods were taken by officers of the British Army during military government and after eleven years of unsucessful lawsuits he went to the Unitied States. He bought land in New York which was later expropriated for the establishment of West Point.
(2)Levi, Joseph, innkeeper, Montreal, 1818.
(3)Levi/Mohr family, including Philip Levi (in Quebec 1836) whose daughter Flora ("Blume") b.c.1841, married Sigismund Mohr (1827-1893) who was responsible for the installation of street lights and other public works in Quebec.
(4)Manuel(le), Emanuel David, Montreal and Michilimackinac, 1770s. He had married Miriam Judah older sister to Dorothea who married Aaron Hart.
(5)Michaels, Levy (1723-1815) and Myer (1760-1815). Levy Michaels came to Canada from Long Island about 1765. His son Myer, a fur trader in the "upper country," married Frances, the sister of David, Samuel and Moses David. He is recorded as coming back to Montreal by canoe in time for the High Holidays in 1804. He was awarded the Beaver Club Medal. See Frances Michaels Will.
(6)Moses, Bernard. A Loyalist, he petitioned Governor Carleton to be given land in Nova Scotia in 1783.
